MidWeek at Second Baptist

April 2 – No Midweek Meal or Activities Due to Spring Break

For Jesus, meals were important. Coming to the table with all sorts of people was a sign of God’s welcome to all. For the church that follows Jesus, it makes sense that table fellowship and community are essential practices that continue to demonstrate God’s welcome to the world. Thus, 2BC makes time each Wednesday to gather in community to eat together, hang out and catch up, and continue our walk with Jesus. Below you will find some of the things that happen on MidWeek Wednesdays. If you have questions about any of our programs or activities, please call the church office at 804-740-7101. We hope you will join us!

This delicious dinner is prepared weekly by our very own Chef Chuck! The cost of the meal is $8 for adults and $2 for children. You may order and pay online via our weekly emails, including a monthly option for your convenience. Of course, you are always welcome to pay cash/check/credit card at the door without a reservation. Our buffet lines are open from 5:30-6:00 p.m. in the gym.

The following ordering, dining, and payment options are available.

  • You can dine in or carry out. We prefer if carry out orders are made online, in advance.  Carry-out meals will be given out inside the Family Life Center gym at the concession window.
  • You can order and pay online via the link below, and payment can be made by PayPal account or a credit card. All online orders, whether dine-in or carry-out, must be made via the link below, and online ordering will close each week on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
  • Best of all, just show up … with friends or family, and you can pay cash, check, or credit card at the door.

If you would like assistance registering for meals, please call the church office at 804-740-7101.

This multi-faceted program is for 3-year-olds through 5th graders. It includes singing in children’s choirs and growing as followers of Jesus.

Children’s Chimes & Bells

Experienced music teachers and volunteers help first through fifth graders learn the basics of music through handbells and chimes. Handbells and Chimes meets before the Midweek Meal, from 5:00 – 5:30 pm.  First and second graders meet in Family Life Center (FLC) Room 246, while third through fifth graders meet in the Handbell Room of the FLC.

Just One Second is our very own youth fellowship and devotions on Wednesday nights from 6:00-7:00 pm in the Student Ministry Area. It focuses on fun and features group games, challenges, trivia, and other activities. Students also learn about missionaries and field personnel serving around the world.

Next Steps: Formation and Fellowship

This is a dynamic time when we gather for formation, learning, and community so that we might become more like Jesus together. Next Steps takes place from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Room 246 of the Family Life Center. This winter, join us for the “The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry” course.
