2BC Kids are Awesome!
We provide an inviting and exciting atmosphere for families to raise their children together within the family of faith. We teach children the stories of Scripture and model for them the way of faith, hope, and love. In turn, our children show us how to enter God’s kingdom with humble trust (Matthew 18:1-5). We invite you to bring your kids into our wonderful community where children are treasured!
Worship Care
Loving childcare is provided for infants through Pre-K children during our 9:00 a.m. Well service and our 11:00 a.m. Sanctuary service on Sundays. We gladly welcome kindergartners through fifth graders into our services.
We take it seriously that you entrust your precious children to us. We know that their safety and health are a top priority for you, and their well-being is a priority for us as well. Through our “Safe at Second” program, we maintain policies and practices designed to ensure the safety and security of infants, preschoolers, and youth in our care. That way, parents can participate in Sunday School and Worship knowing their children are safe.
Pick-up and Drop-off Procedures for Worship Care
- All children must be dropped off and picked up by an adult after completing our electronic check-in.
- At check-in, your child will receive a name sticker, and you will receive a guardian tag sticker to be used when picking up your child.
- Please label all items that you bring including diaper bags, bottles, sippy cups, pacifiers, and coats.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Worship Care, a vital ministry to children and families here at Second Baptist. Worship Care volunteers work alongside our Children’s Ministry staff. We welcome church members 18 years and older to volunteer.
Once you have signed up, we will send you our Safe at Second background check link to fill out online along with any policies and training requirements related to the Children’s Ministry. Worship Care
Sunday School
For infants through 5th graders on Sundays from 10:00-10:45 a.m. These classes are led by caring teachers who are committed to nurturing each child’s understanding of God and Scripture. Our teachers are eager to partner with parents in helping children grow toward faith in Jesus Christ as they discover their place in God’s story.
Children’s Music
Wee Praise
This 45-minute interactive gathering is for our youngest children. Each session includes music, movement, and faith-building fun. For more information, contact Emily Boddy, Director of WeePraise.
- Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. & 5:00 p.m.: open to infants through preschoolers, with an adult.
- Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m.: open to infants through 2-year-olds, with an adult.
Children’s Choirs
For children, preschool through grade five, that opportunity takes place on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 through 7:00 p.m.For more information, contact Wanda Kensinger, Children’s Choir Coordinator.
Handbells
Handbell training is available beginning with the Chime Choir and continues with Children’s Handbell Choir. Contact Taylor Vancil, Minister of Music and Worship, for more information.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Music Ministry at Second Baptist. Use this form to indicate what areas of music ministry interest you most, then a music staff member will reach out to you. We welcome church members of all ages to sign up to volunteer; students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult to volunteer.
In many cases, Music Ministry volunteers work with children or students and must complete a background check before serving in these settings. If you indicate interest in volunteering with children’s or student music, we will send you our Safe at Second background check link to fill out online along with any policies and training requirements related to the Children’s/Student Ministry. Music Ministry Volunteer
“Growing in Grace” Music and Faith Development
For preschoolers on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00 p.m. During Music time, the Tiny Tunes (3-year-olds) & Cherub Choir (PreK) learn more about God as they sing, play instruments, and participate in musical activities. During Faith Development time, they learn about God and the world through a story, a movement activity, and a devotion.
For elementary children on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00 p.m. During Music time, the Joyful Spirit Choir (Kindergarten), Melody Makers Choir (1st & 2nd Grade), and Young Musicians Choir (3rd – 5th Grade) learn songs and engage in activities to strengthen their knowledge of God. During Faith Development time, they participate in activities related to Scripture and learn how to apply its teachings to their lives.
