For Jesus, meals were important. Coming to the table with all sorts of people was a sign of God’s welcome to all. For the church that follows Jesus, it makes sense that table fellowship and community are essential practices that continue to demonstrate God’s welcome to the world. Thus, 2BC makes time each Wednesday to gather in community to eat together, hang out and catch up, and continue our walk with Jesus. Below you will find some of the things that happen on MidWeek Wednesdays. If you have questions about any of our programs or activities, please call the church office at 804-740-7101. We hope you will join us!
This delicious dinner is prepared weekly by our very own Chef Chuck! The cost of the meal is $8 for adults and $2 for children. Wee Praise
This 45-minute interactive gathering is for our youngest children (Infants – preschool children accompanied by an adult). Each session, which takes place in room 248, includes music, movement, and faith-building fun led by Mrs. Emily Boddy. Families will experience how music impacts all areas of development, including language, motor, social, and spiritual.

Music & Missions
This multi-faceted program is for 3-year-olds through 5th graders. It includes singing in children’s choirs and growing as followers of Jesus.
2BCkids Music: For preschool children, the Tiny Tunes* (3 years old by 9/30/2025) and Cherub Choir (PreK) will learn more about God as they sing, play instruments, and participate in musical activities. For elementary children, the Joyful Spirit (Kg), Melody Makers (1st & 2nd Gr), and Young Musicians (3rd-5th Gr) Choirs, will sing many different types of songs, as well as engage in musical activities, all while learning more about God and God’s love. Located in the Children’s Ministry Building.
2BCkids Missions: Children’s Missions is a special time where kids learn and grow by living out their faith through service to others. Through stories, activities, and real-life examples, they discover how to be the hands and feet of Jesus—showing His love, kindness, and compassion in their world, community, and schools. It’s about learning to live like Jesus every day and making a difference wherever they are. Located in the Children’s Ministry Building.

Children’s Chimes & Bells
Experienced music teachers and volunteers help first through fifth graders learn the basics of music through handbells and chimes. These groups learn the basics of ringing chimes/bells in a fun-filled environment. The ensembles perform a few times per year at children’s programs or in worship. It is important that participants are on time and committed to attending rehearsals each week.
1st & 2nd Grade Chime Choir – FLC 246
3rd – 5th Grade Handbell Choir – Handbell Room

Next Steps: Formation and Fellowship
This is a dynamic time when we gather for formation, learning, and community so that we might become more like Jesus together. Next Steps takes place from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Room 246 of the Family Life Center. This fall, join us for the “(Re)Introducing the Holy Spirit: The Familiar Stranger Book Study” course.
