English Worship Service
If you would like to meet with us in person during this time, here are our guidelines for in-person gatherings. We have our Sanctuary Service to watch Live here Sundays at 11:00 a.m. in addition to meeting in person.
The 11:00 a.m. service in the Sanctuary is “traditional” in style with scripture readings, hymns, using organ, piano, and other added instrumentalists. Where, soloists and ensembles provide special music, with the addition of a service choir. Children’s and Youth choirs play an important role as well. Our pastor, or guest ministers, preach biblically-based sermons, and once a month, we observe the Ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Several times during the year in Family Dedications for families with new children are offered.
The Well is an informal, more contemporary worship service. It is held at 8:45 a.m. on Sundays in the Family Life Center Gym which you can watch live here. The message is delivered either by our pastor, other ministers or laity from the church, or guest speakers. Come as you are, and we will provide the coffee! Learn more about this service, and how to get involved here.
At the end of our services, an invitation to Christian discipleship and church membership is extended to the participants. We have Communion the first Sunday of the month in all services, as well as on Maundy Thursday and Christmas Eve (Gluten, wheat, dairy, corn, and soy-free wafers are available). You can participate at home with the Lord’s Supper with our At the Table series.
11:00 a.m. Service
in the Sanctuary
We have our Sanctuary Service to watch Live here Sundays at 11:00 a.m in addition to meeting in person. If you long for the simplicity of worship in music with contextual depth, then our Sanctuary worship service at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary may be for you. Hymns sung to piano and organ accompaniment and clear, sound preaching from the Bible are what you will find here each week. You will also be blessed by our Sanctuary Choir, Bells, Children’s music, and special music. Each Sunday is an invitation to grow closer to God and His purpose for your life through this worship experience. There are several Children’s Sermons offered throughout the month as well as special music presented by our Children’s and Youth choirs, chimes, and bells. We all come together as a worshiping community for our hearts to be lifted and our lives to be presented to the Lord.
The basic element of our faith calls us to worship God. Music is a vital part of worship and ministry in the life of Second Baptist Church. As we lift our praises, we are inspired to carry our faith into our daily ministries. To fulfill our commission of bringing music to the hearts of all at Second Baptist Church, we offer many venues for participation.
