Ladies! Let us walk as Jesus walked. “…just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28)

Emerge’s 7/11 CARITAS Day of service is fast approaching. This is an opportunity to serve our guests as well as an opportunity for us to come together in community with each other as we serve. The following are two fun-filled ways we can emerge and give:
1) LUNCH Team: Bring your family, kids & friends and let’s gather in the FLC on TUESDAY, JULY 10th at 6:00 pm to assemble 32 lunches for our female CARITAS guests. You or your group will be assigned a specific item or items to donate toward the lunches. We can use donation(s), even if you can’t make it to assemble them. Please contact Lunch Captain, Jamie Mitchell, ASAP (for planning purposes) to join the Lunch Bunch Team and for followup instructions… Let’s do lunches and have some fun!
2) DINNER Team: Let’s do hospitality Emerge style! We will join together to assemble and serve dinner to our guests in Spence Hall on Wednesday, July 11th…time TBD. Rose Regni is our Dinner Captain and will assign donations as well as organize and administer the serving of dinner to our guests. Please e-mail ASAP (need for planning purposes) to join the dinner team and to receive instructions from Rose. Many can participate in this opportunity to serve through donations, serving, and/or being present with the women as they eat. Bring your daughters, friends, moms, grandmothers and let’s have fun serving together!

Isaiah 58:6-9
6 “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe them,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness will go before you,
and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
9 Then you will call, and the Lord will answer;
you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.
