SUMMARY:World Communion Sunday + Picnic
DESCRIPTION:This Sunday, October 4, is World Communion Sunday, when churches around the globe celebrate the Lord’s Supper as an act of radical Christian unity.\nOn this special day, we will hold one all-church worship service in the Sanctuary at 11:00 a.m. Our Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, Telugu, and English ministries will all come together for this service as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper. Pastors and musicians from all our Language Ministries will lead in worship with Senior Pastor, Dr. Noel Schoonmaker, preaching. (Sunday School will be held as usual; there will be no 9:00 a.m. Well service.)\nAfter the all-church worship service, everyone is invited to the FLC Gym at 12:15 p.m. for a picnic potluck. You’re encouraged to bring a side dish or dessert to share. From 10:20 – 10:50 a.m., dishes will be received in the kitchen adjacent to the FLC Gym. Homemade dishes need a printed ingredient list for allergies. Please put your full name at the bottom of your dish to be returned if not disposable. Please provide a disposable serving spoon or utensil if needed to serve your side dish or dessert.\nOn the first Sunday of each month, when we take Communion, we invite everyone to donate food items for our Loaves & Fishes food distribution program to help our neighbors in need. Please place your donations in the designated containers in the Church Commons. \nHere are the most helpful food items:\n\nFull-sized grocery bags\nCanned or pouched tuna/chicken\nJars of peanut butter, 16 oz. or less preferred\nCanned green vegetables\nCanned corn\nCanned beans\nPacks of Ramen Noodles\nPacks of single-serve apple sauce\nPacks of single-serve fruit cups\nBoxes or bags of rice\nBoxes of pasta, spaghetti, or macaroni and cheese\nCans of pasta or spaghetti sauce\n\nWe will livestream the all-church worship service at 11:00 a.m. here. You can access the order of worship here. Since we will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper, we encourage online worshipers to prepare the elements at home so that you can partake with us during the service.\n\n
