DESCRIPTION:We’re thrilled by the incredible response to our one-day visit to the Museum of the Bible (museumofthebible.org) in Washington, DC, on Friday, November 7, 2025! We hope everyone who truly wants to attend can secure a space. Please read this information carefully before registering below.\nWhat’s Included:\n\nMuseum admission\n1-hour Highlights tour upon arrival\nBoxed lunch after the tour\nFree time for individual exploration\n\nYou’ll pay for: Train tickets and Metro fare for the day\nImportant Limitations\n\nMaximum 30 participants – first come, first served. Registration closes: Sunday, October 19, at midnight. Any registrations received above 30 participants or after October 19 cannot be honored. We will contact anyone to whom this issue applies. \nGUESTS: Because space is limited, we ask that you do not register any guests who are not affiliated with SBC as either a member or recurring visitor until after registration closes. We will notify everyone of any remaining vacancies on Tuesday, October 21, via another email blast. At that time, we will reopen registration for any remaining spaces until we reach our cap of 30 participants. \nWAITLIST: We will also take a limited number of waitlist names after we have reached capacity. Those will also be first-come/first-served.\n\nSchedule on Friday, November 7, 2025\n\nArrive by 8:00 am for parking and boarding at Staples Mill (RVR) station- Carpooling to the station is encouraged.\nDeparture: 8:23 am from Staples Mill (RVR) → arrives Alexandria (ALX) 10:22 am\nMETRO/ON FOOT: We’ll take the metro from ALX station to the museum. It’s about a 15-minute walk total from the metro stop to the museum (including 2-3 blocks and going up from underground). After visiting the museum, we’ll take the metro back to ALX station. You can buy Metro tickets with your phone or credit card when we get there.\nReturn: 6:17 pm from Alexandria → arrives Staples Mill 8:20 pm\n\n*Please note that we cannot catch an earlier train back to Richmond and allow sufficient time to see the museum and return by metro. If the train schedule does not work for you, please do not register to attend.*\nTransportation Requirements\n\nTRAIN TRAVEL REQUIRED – We strongly request that everyone arrive via train as opposed to any other method of transportation. Museum Tickets will not be given out until the time of entry, and we must all enter as a group. We cannot wait for late arrivals.\nFlex Option Recommended – We also strongly suggest that when you purchase train tickets, you do so with the Flex option. That provides free cancellations/changes in case of illness, if cancelled before departure.\n\nREGISTER BELOW\nRegister below, please select ONE meal option only. Hit Submit to complete your registration. If you encounter a message that says “Unfortunately, we have reached our capacity of 30 attendees for this event,” we have met our capacity of 30 participants, and your registration cannot be completed.\nConfirm registration – you’ll receive an automated email from the church within 2 minutes of completing your registration.\nIf our capacity of 30 participants has been met, when you submit your request to register, you will receive a system-generated message that the maximum attendance has been reached, and your registration cannot be completed. Select the $24 fare option, which will display both the standard $24 fare and the $27 Flex fare. Select the Flex fare $27 and click Add to Cart\nScroll down to select 6:17 p..m as your return (it will show 8:20 arrival at Richmond Staples Mill): 93 Northeast Regional. Select the $17 fare option, which will display both the standard $17 fare and the $19 Flex fare. Select the $19 Flex fare and click Add to Cart\nClick Continue. When the next screen appears, click Continue again\nEnter Traveler Details\nCheck the box on the right below the fare balance due of $46 to agree to the terms and conditions\nEnter your credit card information, then click Purchase\nYou will receive an email from Amtrak with your ticket. We recommend that you keep your confirmation email, which includes your e-ticket, on your phone AND print it as a backup.\n\nTrain prices have fluctuated throughout the day on 9/29 & 9/30, so we cannot predict what the exact price listed will be when you go to book. Just be sure to book the indicated train times and the flex option for each leg.
