DESCRIPTION:This year, we continue our tradition of partnering with many other For Richmond Churches by hosting the Richmond City, Henrico and Hanover Department of Social Services Christmas Party for Foster Families! We can’t wait to welcome these amazing families and provide them with this time of connection and encouragement.\nWhen: Saturday, December 14 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. (volunteers arrive at 10:30 a.m.)\nWhere: The Family Life Center (FLC) Gym and Commons here at Second Baptist Church River & Gaskins\nThere are many ways to get involved in this exciting opportunity:\n\nVolunteer for the event: We need a lot of smiling Second Baptist faces to show hospitality and love to Foster Families, Social Workers, and Volunteers from other churches. A list of opportunities can be found here.\nPurchase gift cards: Please donate $50 to Walmart, Target and/or Amazon so that the foster or kinship parents can buy a special gift. Drop them off with Patty in the church office.\nGive toward the DSS Fund to go towards providing lunch for everyone in attendance or towards gift cards for the foster families! You can do so by following this link and selecting the DSS Fund in the drop-down menu or by sending a check to the church with “DSS Fund” in the memo line.\n\nIf you would like to volunteer, check out the sign-up link here.\n
