Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes are available in the FLC Commons.
Please limit one OCC plastic shoebox per person, however, feel
free to take as many of the cardboard shoeboxes that you would like to
fill. We will start receiving OCC filled shoeboxes from Sunday, October
21 through Sunday, November 18.

This involves filling a shoe box with items we take for granted but that mean so much more to people around the world. Shoe boxes are now available in the Commons area for pick up and filling. Boxes can be filled with basic school supplies such as composition books, pencils, pens, glue sticks, crayons, colored pencils, etc. Remember NO liquids (liquid glue, glitter glue, liquid paints, shampoo, lotions, etc.) are allowed in a box. Also, food products such as candy, gum, and toothpaste are no longer allowed as their expiration dates prevent boxes from being cleared by customs in the receiving countries. Hand-made items that will fit into a shoebox (such as dresses and wooden toys) are especially welcome.

A work room is now available for Sunday School classes or mission groups that would like to have a shoe box packing party. The room is also available for children and teens who would like to “give their birthday away” by hosting a packing party and asking for gift shoe box items instead of presents for their birthdays.

Year-round volunteer opportunities are also available. Teens in need of a volunteer project to meet school or scout requirements are welcome to work with OCC throughout the year.

If you are interested in volunteering, donating items, or scheduling a packing party, please contact Cathy Pate.
